If you're out and about you might like to know there are only 5 lakes in Scotland, the rest are lochs.

Lake of Menteith near Aberfoyle,
Raith Lake in Fife,
Pressmennan Lake at Stenton in East Lothian,
Cally Lake at Gatehouse of Fleet in Dumfries and Galloway
Hirsel Lake near Coldstream and the River Tweed

However, Lake of Menteith is the only natural area of water in Scotland called "lake", the rest are man made.
